Community School Information

The Baltimore County Public Schools’ Community School initiative is to build an inclusive and collaborative environment where shared leadership and diverse partnerships drives sustainable, equitable, and measurable conditions for student success.

As a Community School, we will be given the opportunity to collect information from our parents and community around the strengths and needs of our school. We are excited to create a plan for further school improvement and community engagement that meets the needs of all stakeholders. This plan will serve as a central hub for academics, health, and social services, working in collaboration with community partners to support students, families, and the surrounding neighborhood.

To support with this process, we are delighted to welcome Rachel Mills, Community School Facilitator, to Westowne Elementary. She brings over 20 years of experience in BCPS Title I schools. With this, her unique talents and fresh perspectives will enrich the Westowne students, families, and community. We are excited to have her join our team and look forward to the positive impact she will make!
